Never in recent memory have CGCI clubs had so much grant money available to them for Blue Star Marker sites. Are you confused about what’s available? Here is the skinny on both programs in progress now.
Let’s Go Native – grant program sponsored by NGC and Principal Financial Group
This is the NGC grant program to which CGCI has applied for grant funds. CGCI is providing the matching funds required by the Let’s Go Native program. $100 grant money is available to any club or district for landscaping any new or existing Blue Star Marker with 80% native plants. The deadline for application for the $100 is NOW. The application is available in the February-March issue of Golden Gardens, page 15.
Principal Financial Group – Byway Marker Grant Funds
The Principal Financial Group Foundation, Inc. has agreed to donate $2,000 for Blue Star Memorial By-way Markers, so the first eight clubs or districts that send in an application for this grant, plus a By-way Marker order with a check for the additional $110 will receive the money. The application is available on the CGCI website under “What’s New.”
There are a few requirements, which are:
The second line of the marker will list Principal Financial Group. (The first line is your club or district.)
The dedication must be held before June 1, 2009, note extension. Allow at least three months after Sewah Studios receives the order before dedication.
