Civic Beautification

Improving the Places Where We Live

A neighborhood which is clean, safe, healthy and a pleasure to view improves the quality of the life of every member of the community. Since their inception, Garden Clubs have had the betterment and beautification of their communities as one of their main priorities.

The photo to the left is the Flower Clock in downtown Modesto, CA which is maintained by the Modesto Garden Club.

 

 

CALIFORNIA GARDENS    
Botanical and memorial garden that are open to the public give visitors the chance to study, enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature. California garden club members actively support gardens throughout the state in many ways. Click here to learn more.

CIVIC DEVELOPMENT
CGCI encourages members to help beautify and improve their communities. Inclusion of civic officials in the early planning stages of a project will help promote civic involvement.

COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION COMMENDATIONS
Clubs are encouraged to recognize individuals, developers and civic groups for efficient, attractive and good land use through the presentation  of certificates or letters of recognition. For more information, contact Mary Lou Goodwin at goodwin-cgci@northcoast.com

LANDSCAPE DESIGN COUNCIL   
The Landscape Design Council is organized for active Consultants (who have completed all four courses and who must retain valid certificates through periodic renewal) and for Provisional Consultants (who have completed two courses). Consultants promote better land use, recognize good landscape design practice, publicize superior design examples and stimulate public intrest. NATIONAL GARDEN WEEK
National Garden Week has been designated as the first full week in June.  Garden clubs plan special events, displays and newspaper articles advertising this occasion.
